Man accused of stabbing person with sword after argument over food, Myrtle Beach police say

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A man arrested Tuesday is accused of stabbing someone with a sword after an argument over food that he thought they ate, police documents obtained by News13 show.

Fabian Stanbuyn Brown, 40, was charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, online jail records show.

Myrtle Beach police responded at about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday to Little River Road for an assault, an incident report shows. A witness told them that Brown had stabbed another man while defending himself.

Brown told police that an argument started in the kitchen over food that he believed the man ate, according to the report. Brown said it was a loud verbal argument and that the man told him and the witness they were “making him feel like he wants to fight them.”

Brown then went back to his room and closed the door, the report said. When he opened it back up, the man lunged at him and Brown allegedly stabbed him in the stomach.
