Early Sunday morning, tragedy struck in Belvedere Park as Columbus Police Officers responded to a shooting incident. At 1:41 a.m., officers arrived at the 700 block of Parkview Drive to find a Black male, later identified as Earkus Porter, Jr., 18, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts from EMS, Porter could not be revived. Coroner Buddy Bryan declared him deceased at 2:21 p.m.
