Struggling Red Lobster to Close More Virginia Locations as Part of Broader Bankruptcy Measures

Three Virginia Red Lobster Locations Among Latest Round of Closures in Ongoing Bankruptcy

Red Lobster’s financial woes deepen as the struggling seafood chain announces another round of closures amid its ongoing bankruptcy proceedings. The company, which filed for Chapter 11 on May 19, has revealed plans to shutter an additional 23 locations by August 31, according to documents filed with a bankruptcy court.

This latest move brings the total number of Red Lobster restaurant closures in the United States to at least 129 in recent months, significantly reducing the chain’s operational footprint. The new closures include three locations in Virginia.

Red Lobster executives announced they would be opting not to renew leases for these 23 restaurants as part of their ongoing restructuring efforts. The company’s bankruptcy filing earlier this year followed the closure of numerous locations in an attempt to stabilize its financial situation.
