Plano man, Darnell Branch, didn’t just spend a typical Sunday at a Chase Oaks Boulevard pool on June 9. Instead, he found himself in the throes of a crisis that would earn him the Plano Citizen Hero Award for his life-saving actions. In an event that quickly escalated into a violent altercation, Branch’s decision to intervene made all the difference for a gunshot victim.
