The Oklahoma Sooners showed out in their first game as an SEC team, which saw them beat the Temple Owls 51-3. Sure, the Owls are not a good team, but, they are one of the few SEC teams over the weekend to have a dominant game against an FBS team, where teams like Arkansas won 70-0 against one of the worst FCS teams.
Even in that dominant win, there are certainly some things to be worried about within the offense. The defense looked great — looked like a Brent Venables defense. But the offense, man, they struggled at times.
The offensive line, granted was without a few players and got beat up all night by a bad Temple defensive line. The third down offense was terrible, as they went 0/9 on third down with the starters. And, the biggest concern that fans and media are having, is that the Sooners didn’t go downfield enough.
“I thought he [Jackson Arnold] managed the game well,” offensive coordinator Seth Littrell said after the win. “We didn’t push the ball down the field as much as we would like…”
