Well-known catering company Elaine Bell Catering will shut down at the end of next month after 43 years serving the North Bay. A California WARN notice said 164 employees will be laid off once the catering company closes Oct. 31. Owners Elaine Bell and John Merritt told their employees at the end of August of their decision to retire, according to a news release.
