Sandy church to facilitate free dental clinic on Oct. 6

In an effort to promote proactive dental care — and make it accessible — the Sandy Seventh-day Adventist Church once again will facilitate its free dental clinic.

A team of church volunteers and medical professionals will host the clinic at 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at the church, 18575 S.E. Langensand Road.

Those in need of care from the areas of Sandy, the Mount Hood communities, Boring, Eagle Creek and Estacada are welcome to attend to receive dental fillings and extractions on a first-come-first-served basis. Those in need of a flipper, crown or cleaning are required to call Tami Beaty at 503-698-4622 to book an appointment.

“There’s a need now more than ever for free dental care,” said volunteer event coordinator Tami Beaty. “I think when people are in need, that money tends to go elsewhere. All of this preventative stuff is such a big deal for (those who otherwise couldn’t afford these services).”

People are encouraged to show up to the church early that Sunday to allow time to screen for COVID symptoms, assess the needs of those in attendance, and efficiently care for as many patients as possible.
