Good evening everyone. In response to further tropical development off of the South Carolina & North Carolina coast, the National Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Warning until at least tomorrow late afternoon.

Tropical Depression #8 has officially formed and further development is likely. In areas such as Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC, wind gusts up to and possibly exceeding 60mph are likely. Meanwhile, sustained winds will probably be between 45-50mph, which may cause some wind damage throughout a wide area.

On top of the rough surf, rough seas, beach erosion, and minor to moderate coastal flooding, we are also expecting a severe weather component to this. As with any other landfalling tropical system, look for torrential rain, frequent lightning, damaging winds, some hail, and the risk of numerous brief tornadoes.

Look for the action to begin tonight and into the late afternoon hours tomorrow before everything heads inland and into interior parts of North and South Carolina where more severe weather is expected.
