PHILLIPSBURG, NJ – Phillipsburg’s Railroad Festival brought an unexpected surprise when fans of both comedy and railroads spotted Brian Quinn—known as “Q” from the hit show Impractical Jokers —visiting the historic Phillipsburg Union Tower (PU Tower).
The PU Tower , a beloved site for rail enthusiasts, stepped up its game for the festival, offering daily tours and an up-close look at their ongoing restoration projects, including the globally recognized Model 1914 Interlocking Machine.

The celebrity sighting came as a shock to Dan Richter, PU Tower’s Director and YouTube mastermind for bringing attention to the Tower projects, who was grabbing lunch at Joe’s Steak Shop when he got word that a famous face was getting a tour of the Model 14 interlocking machine. Racing back to the tower, Richter found none other than Brian Quinn, accompanied by his brother Jim and their father, taking in the rich history of railroads in the area.
