(COLORADO SPRINGS) — According to CSPD, the shooting victim was struck by gunfire that came through the wall of an apartment while they were asleep, causing non-life-threatening injuries. Multiple shots had come from an adjoining apartment that was unoccupied when police checked it.

While searching for the tenant, officers heard gunfire in the area, said CSPD. Police later learned the suspect had driven to KeyBank at 27 Spectrum Loop, near Voyager, and fired into the business.

While officers investigated the gunfire they received reports of another incident at Village Inn at 7384 Duryea Drive, near East Woodmen Road and Austin Bluffs Parkway, where the suspect had fired into the restaurant and was attempting to enter. Shortly after, more shots were reported at another KeyBank at 3506 Hartsel Road, near Woodmen and Rangewood Drive, according to CSPD.

Police say the suspect, identified as Rupesh Jain, then returned to the apartment on Nahcolite Point, where he was arrested.
