Don’t go there, don’t ever go there, even though you’ve probably been there, or will go there. Lubbock has one urban legend that rises above all the rest and it’s “Hell’s Gates”. No one really knows the origins of the legend or even why it continues to this day. There are many variations of why the area is called “Hell’s Gates” and almost all are incredibly vague. For me, I have to know why a place is supposed to be spooky in order for it to be spooky.
