Good morning, we’ve got an almost August-like forecast for our Thursday with unpleasant heat setting in and a chance for some strong to low-grade severe thunderstorms.
TODAY’S SEVERE THREAT
- We may see some scattered storms this morning
- A strong storm or two may be possible
- The better chances for strong to low-grade severe storms is later this evening
- At this time damaging wind gusts are the primary concern, however, some small hail cannot be ruled out
WHAT WE’RE TRACKING
- Our morning round of showers & storms will be coming to an end by late morning/early afternoon
- Most of us are dry at noon and temps will be heating up
- Heat index values today could easily reach 100° and possibly a bit higher for some
- Make sure you’re taking precautions if you’re doing anything outdoors today
- Later this evening, after 6:00pm, scattered storms begin developing across Kansas and Oklahoma
- The storms will push east, and could possibly be strong to low-grade severe
