KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A police chase in Independence ended in a three-car crash on Interstate 70 Wednesday night.
Independence police said they were sent to the sound of gunshots near 45th and Grace Avenue around 10 p.m. Wednesday.

When officers arrived at the scene, a car sped away from the scene. Officers said they tried to stop the person driving the car.
The driver drove west on I-70 and was involved in a crash with two other cars. The driver ran from the scene of the crash and officers are still trying to locate them.
