A Delta flight from Tampa to Boston was diverted to Connecticut

Delta is working to get travelers to their final destinations today.

A Delta Air Lines flight heading from Tampa to Boston was diverted to Bradley International Airport early Thursday morning due to a mechanical issue, the airline reported.

“Delta flight 1439 from Tampa (TPA) to Boston (BOS) diverted and landed safely in Hartford, Conn. (BDL) after the crew received an indication of a mechanical issue,” wrote Delta in a statement. “Delta teams are working to get these customers to their final destinations today, and we apologize for the delay in their travel.”

The Boeing 737-800 aircraft had 109 customers and six crew members on board. As the plane approached Boston, the captain followed procedures to divert the plane to Connecticut due to the mechanical issue as well as low visibility conditions in Boston, according to the airline.

“The safety of Delta’s customers and employees remains our top priority,” wrote Delta in the statement.
