Daytime highs rebound in Utah with partly cloudy skies and dry conditions

SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — Happy Thursday or Friday eve, Utah! We had cooler-than-normal temperatures for the midweek, but with stable conditions, we will see highs get closer to where we should be this time of year.

Along with partly cloudy skies, temperatures will warm into the upper 70s across the northern half of the state, with a few spots like Salt Lake City flirting with 80 degrees. Southern Utah sees a range of 80s, and lower Washington County pushes to the higher end of that range, with St. George making a run for 88 degrees. To put it into perspective, the average for today in Salt Lake City is 79º, while the seasonal norm in St. George is 92 degrees.

Bottom Line? Another gorgeous day ahead with dry conditions and temperatures climbing close to seasonal averages

There’s an upper-level low that has moved inland from the Pacific Coast and is now meandering through the Desert Southwest into Friday. The low is weakening as it tracks eastward but will bring the chance for isolated thunderstorms over the higher terrain throughout Utah with the best chance for thunderstorms now focused on southern and central Utah.
