The West Kern Community College District unexpectedly terminated its new superintendent after a closed-door meeting Wednesday night. Rafe Trickey had been hired by the college earlier this year and took over as Superintendent-President on June 3. He worked in conjunction with former interim Superintendent Brock McMurray for the rest of June until McMurray retired.
