United Way launch ‘Springfield Unity Fund’ to support community services

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio ( WDTN ) — The United Way of Clark, Champaign and Madison Counties has launched a new fund to support community services in Springfield.

The Springfield Unity Fund was announced on Thursday, Sept. 19 following several press conferences by Gov. Mike DeWine and local leaders this week.

United Way works closely with local organizations and the immigrant population. Its goals are to mobilize the community and provide the resources needed for effective assimilation and long-term success. Donations will be distributed through Springfield’s social services.

In a press conference on Tuesday, DeWine highlighted the need for translation services as well as infant and child healthcare . DeWine recently pledged $2.5 million in funding over the next two years to support Springfield’s infrastructure.

There are two ways to contribute: submit a donation online or text “unityfund” to 53-555.
