Detroit man accused of shooting at co-worker in Macomb County road rage, stabbing him when they returned to work

(WWJ) — A Detroit man is behind bars for allegedly shooting at his co-worker during a road rage incident and later stabbing him in Macomb County last week.

Lequan Brown, 47, was arraigned Wednesday on multiple felony charges, including attempted murder, for the alleged incident that happened on Friday, Sept. 13 in the area of Van Dyke Avenue and I-696.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office says Brown and a co-worker were leaving work in separate cars when Brown fired multiple shots at the victim’s car.

Later that same day, according to the prosecutor’s office, both men returned to work and Brown allegedly attacked his co-worker with a knife. The victim sustained “severe lacerations” but has since been released from the hospital.

Authorities did not say what sparked the initial road rage incident and did not disclose their place of work.

Brown has been charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and felony firearm. He is being charged as a habitual third offender.
