Police on Thursday announced they are investigating human remains found in a rural area in south Lubbock.
According to LPD, law enforcement began a search and investigation in a rural area of south Lubbock on Sept. 18th. The investigation was completed when human remains were discovered with the assistance of the Lubbock Police Mounted Patrol Unit, Forensics Investigations Unit and Texas Parks and Wildlife.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. It was not immediately clear what prompted the search.
According to police, anyone with information on this investigation is asked to contact Crime Line at 806-741-1000. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
