Reid Scouts 1st Month: ‘Self-Inflicted Wounds!’

The Kansas City Chiefs may be one of only two teams left undefeated after the first four weeks of the NFL season (Minnesota Vikings also 4-0), but head coach Andy Reid isn’t happy with the performances.

While, yes, being 4-0 is a great start by any estimation, Kansas City hasn’t hit its stride yet and in truth, has been rather clunky so far instead of being the streamlined attacking juggernaut we have become accustomed to seeing.

But as we look ahead to Week 5 and the Chiefs’ matchup against the New Orleans Saints, where does Reid want to see things improve?

“Just getting rid of the penalties and those self-inflicted wounds,” Reid said . “The turnovers, penalties, those hurt you at this level and you got to take care of that. Then I’ve got to make sure that I’m putting the guys in the right position to do the right thing. I think the coaches would tell you the same thing with that, but that’s where we’re at but it’s close, we just got to keep rolling.”

Reid isn’t wrong; looking at the stats, the Chiefs have some things to iron out.
