Hawaii women’s volleyball pulls reverse sweep

The University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team won its first Big West Conference road match of the season with a 13-25, 18-25, 25-14, 25-12, 15-10 reverse sweep at UC San Diego on Friday.

Hawaii improved to 8-5 overall and 2-1 in Big West Conference play, notching its second reverse sweep of the season.

The Rainbow Wahine came out flat in the first two sets, hitting an even .000 before hitting .421 the next three.

Caylen Alexander fought through lingering injuries and had a match-high 24 kills on a season-high .372 hitting.

UH closes its road trip on Saturday against Long Beach State at 4:30 p.m. HST in a match that will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
