California Highway Patrol investigating fatal wreck on northbound I-5

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — California Highway Patrol officers responded to a vehicle rollover that resulted in at least one fatality Saturday afternoon, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Page.

On Oct. 5, the CHP was notified of a single vehicle rollover wreck that happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, by the Lebec Curve. Just after 12:28 p.m., a white Toyota Prius connected with multiple barricades and landed on its roof.

Four subjects were inside the vehicle, according to the CHP Traffic Incident page. A coroner official from an unknown agency responded to the scene for a fatality and one victim was airlifted to a hospital.

The identity of the deceased will be released at a later date.
