California Drivers Can Sign Up & Be Paid For The Gas Price Gouging Settlement

The last 10 years have been a nightmare if you are a California driver. Gas prices have gone up to record highs off and on during the last decade. The state is finally doing something about the obvious price gouging, and some may be benefiting from it.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced that anyone who purchased gas in Southern California between February 20, 2015, and November 10, 2015 may get a refund due to the manipulation of gas prices. In a lawsuit by the state, multiple companies agreed to a settlement of $50 million in a settlement for their actions.

Vitol, Inc. and SK Energy Americas, Inc., and their parent company SK Trading International, worked together to manipulate market prices for California gasoline.

Gas stations in the counties of Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Orange, Kern, Ventura, San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Imperial Counties are part of this settlement.

Anyone that bought gas during that time can go to this site and submit a claim before January 8, 2025. At that time, they will decide how much is paid to each person. It will depend on how many people sign up and qualify.
