FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Live Doppler 15 Fury Storm Team is monitoring an elevated fire danger to conclude the weekend.
September ended with needed rain, what will October bring?
A cold front will pass through the area on Sunday, bringing with it an increase in winds. At most, wind gusts could reach the 35 mph mark.
Combine this with the dry ground and the very dry air moving in behind this cold front, and you have a recipe for field fires to spread quickly if ignited. Outdoor burning is discouraged on Sunday.
The Storm Prediction Center has also placed our section of the country in a zone where the fire danger is elevated.
