Fire damages eastside home overnight

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Lansing Fire Department crews responded to a structure fire on the 200 block of S. Foster St. early Saturday morning.

Lansing Fire Department reports department crews were dispatched just before 3 a.m. on reports of a fire in a home with visible flames coming out of a window. When crews arrived on scene, the department reported in a news release, they discovered a “moderate amount of smoke from attic vent and fire coming from side window on the home.”

Fire fighters were able to put the fire out “quickly.” Following that, fire officials searched the home to make sure there was no remaining fire and to ensure there was no one present.

The fire caused an estimated $15,000 in damage to the home and contents. It is under investigation.
