MPD: Man steals over 12k worth of phones and tablets

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was arrested on Friday after Memphis Police said he robbed a T-Mobile store at gunpoint earlier this month.

Maurice Harris, 31, has been charged with aggravated robbery and convicted felon in possession of a firearm for the incident.

On October 4 at approximately 7:24 p.m., officers responded to a business robbery at Metro by T-Mobile, located in the 4000 block of Elvis Presley Road.

When they arrived, they spoke with a store employee who told them that the store had been robbed at gunpoint by a lone male suspect.

MPD: Carjackers arrested minutes after taking car at gunpoint

The employee said the suspect entered the business and asked about buying a phone.

According to the police report, the employee was suspicious of the suspect, told him that the store was about to close and suggested he come back in the morning.

The employee said that the suspect left the business and then returned with a silver and black handgun.

The suspect allegedly pointed the gun at the employee and demanded that he go to the back room.
