More mixed early-voting experiences in York; county suggests appointments for over-the-counter voting

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — York County’s president commissioner and election board chair, Julie Wheeler (R), responded Tuesday to questions about apparent mail-in ballot processing delays.

More voters called and emailed the abc27 newsroom to report problems similar to those first reported Monday . Other voters leaving the election office on Pleasant Valley Road in Springettsbury Township Tuesday expressed satisfaction.

“They’re very efficient in there,” said Deb Nattress of Lewisberry. “Everything’s moving good.”

“Very friendly. Very professional,” said Robert Sykes of Manchester. “There are people there to help you along the way if there are any questions.”

But other voters contacted abc27 News with more complaints about mail-in ballots.

Jackie and Tony Ditzler, spending time in South Carolina, requested their York mail-in ballots in September and — very long story short — are still waiting for them. After two unproductive phone calls — “They were not of any help,” Jackie Ditzler said of the people she spoke with — they learned the ballots had been mailed to the wrong place.
