Jenna Bush Hager has shared some wild stories about her youth on Today With Hoda & Jenna , which is why it came as no surprise to viewers when she issued a public apology to one of her high school teachers after she and Hoda Kotb visited her old stomping grounds in Austin, Texas, on the show.
Kotb told viewers that she had a “beautiful” time visiting Austin High School, where Bush Hager attended as a teen. Her Today co-host apparently could not hold back her tears during their visit.
“Y’all, if you watch the show I know you’re shocked that I was crying,” Bush Hager joked. “But if any of you have not gone back to your high school, go back.”
She told Kotb, “To be back there in a place that shaped me so much was so weirdly emotional. I couldn’t stand it.”
Kotb mentioned that they ran into several people Bush Hager used to know, including her cross country coach and her old teachers, which prompted Bush Hager to issue a public apology to one teacher in particular.
