There are a handful of restaurants around Tucson that, even if you’ve never set foot inside, you’ve heard of. They are the restaurants that have been around the city and, chances are, you have a friend or family member that loves eating there. While building a restaurant up is hard work, what’s more difficult is maintaining it. Unfortunately, some establishments can become lax by following certain guidelines, including those set forth by the health department here in Tucson. That seems to be what has happened with one prominent restaurant, as it recently was cited for 17 violations.
On October 14, the health department visited Trident Grill at 2033 East Speedway Blvd. During this time, the restaurant was cited for 11 Core violations and 6 Priority/Priority Foundation Violations. A Core violation is building-specific, so a violation has to do with a building in some form of disrepair. A Priority Violation is one that directly contributes to the increased chance of foodborne illness or injury.
