BOGUE SOUND, NC – Multiple investigators examined a massive manatee in knee-deep water after a fatal injury occurred in the Bogue Sound. An estimated 1,000-pound male Florida manatee was killed after suffering a boat propeller injury to the head earlier this month, according to NC State University Center for Marine Sciences and Technology (CMAST).
