CALIFORNIA, USA — There were a few bumps on the road as California’s initial e-bike incentive program launched in December. But officials are hoping this next run will go smoother.
On April 29, 1,000 vouchers will be available for the distribution’s second round. To get one, people will need to enter a waiting room between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. The room will stay open until the 1,000 applications are submitted.
But there’s still some things you’ll want to know about it before that time comes.
1. The first round overwhelmed the system
When applications opened in December, nearly 100,000 people jumped online to claim one of 1,500 available vouchers at the time. The system determined people’s place in line based on when they signed on. It was a first-come, first-served basis.
2. There’s a new system in place
The experience in December might be different than what you get on April 29 with the e-bike incentive program.
