Onetime Jersey City Mobster Freed From Federal Prison at Age 95

A man the government described as a onetime organized crime operative who worked out of Jersey City and Hoboken has been freed from prison where he had served more than 36 years of an 80-year federal racketeering sentence.

Louis “Bobby” Manna, 95, an alleged “made” member of the Genovese crime family and conspirator was charged in a failed plot to kill rival mob boss John Gotti and his brother Gene, is now under the care of court-approved custodians.

But, according to the feds, Manna successfully engineered the shooting death of New York businessman Irving Schiff linked to Genovese in an Upper East Side eatery in August 1977…
