Second teen arrested for homicide at Grove Apartments

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police announced a second 17-year-old was arrested in connection to a homicide at Grove Apartments.

Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said Jordan Champion was arrested on February 18, 2026. He was charged with capital murder and aggravated assault.

Champion appeared in court on February 19, 2026, and was denied bond.

Brown said Javeon Wilson, 17, was previously charged with capital murder and aggravated assault in connection to the case. He was denied bond for the capital murder charge but received a $250,000 bond for the aggravated assault charge…
