Boston Globe calls off daily newspaper printing for the first time in history

Boston Globe executives decided Monday evening not to print a morning newspaper for the first time in the publication’s history, according to the Globe.

“In an unprecedented decision, executives determined that the conditions during Monday’s blizzard made it impossible to print and deliver a paper Tuesday morning,” the newspaper reported.

The nor’easter brought more than 30 inches of snow to many Massachusetts communities, and over two dozen towns and cities across the state declared a state of emergency during the storm. Nearly 275,000 customers were without power throughout Massachusetts as of 7:30 p.m. — most of them on the Cape and Islands…
