Knoxville City Council approves consideration to lower temperature threshold for warming and cooling centers

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Knoxville City Council discussed increased funding and support for warming and cooling centers, including a proposal to lower the temperature threshold for when those centers open, Tuesday evening.

Currently, warming centers open when temperatures reach 25 degrees.

Council Member Amelia Parker proposed to change that threshold to 32 degrees…
