EVANSVILLE – Nearly three years after the shooting in which he’s accused, and more than a year after Evansville police secured a warrant for his arrest, an Evansville man has been booked into the Vanderburgh County jail on a charge of attempted murder.
Jail records show Jahkei Damerius Mitchell, 23, was entered into custody just before 11 a.m. Thursday on $150,000 bond. Investigators issued a warrant for his arrest Dec. 12, 2024 on a Level 1 felony charge of attempted murder.
Javeon Yorel Cox, now 22, was also arrested on an attempted murder charge in the same case on the same day officials filed the warrant for Mitchell. A Vanderburgh Superior Court jury found Cox not guilty after a trial in November…
