Expansion of prescription drug take-back boxes in Spencer Co.

SPENCER COUNTY, Ind. (WFIE) – Spencer County Commissioners, along with the Spencer County Opioid Settlement Committee, have approved funding to expand prescription drug take-back boxes across Spencer County.

These boxes provide a safe, convenient way for people to dispose of unused, unwanted, or expired medications. Proper disposal helps prevent misuse and keeps medications out of the wrong hands.

With the help of local EMS, volunteer fire departments, and city partners, take-back boxes are now available at several locations throughout Spencer County.

Boxes were already available at: Spencer County Sheriff’s Office, Santa Claus Town Hall and Rockport City Hall.

Additional boxes are now located at:

  • Chrisney Town Hall – 22 E. Chestnut Street in Chrisney
  • Luce Fire Department (Hatfield) – 8593 W. Old State Road 66 in Hatfield
  • St. Meinrad Utilities – 12858 E. Brewery Street in St. Meinrad
  • Dale EMS/Carter Fire – 701 Buffaloville Road in Dale
  • Grandview Fire Department – 210 N. Forest Drive in Grandview
