BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo woman admitted to attempted assault Monday after she was shot by a police officer during an incident in September, the Erie County District Attorney’s office said.
Cynthia Gilbert, 38, was wielding a knife when police responded to an apartment complex at Donovan Drive around 2 a.m. on the morning of Sept. 27, 2025. She approached a group of people outside and allegedly did not listen to commands or drop the weapon.
Pepper spray was deployed, but was not effective. Gilbert stabbed a 39-year-old man in the head with the knife. She was then shot in the shoulder by an officer…
