FORT MEADE, Fla. — Polk County firefighters rescued a barred owl that got tangled in fishing line over the Peace River on Monday morning.
Firefighters used a bucket truck to reach the owl. One firefighter cut the line while two people below captured the owl safely in a blanket.
The barred owl was taken to the Raptor Center of Tampa Bay for rehabilitation. Rescuers at the center told 10 Tampa Bay News they believe the owl is a female, and she does not appear to have any broken bones. They say she is flying around but favors her right wing…
