Framingham MA will honor veterans with ‘Hometown Heroes’ banners

The City of Framingham is accepting applications for its third annual Hometown Heroes banner program, which honors local veterans by displaying their banners along city streets. The program is a collaboration between the city and the Framingham Veterans Council, according to a community announcement.

Banners each feature a photograph, along with the name and branch of service for each veteran, celebrating their service during wartime or peacetime. A maximum of 75 banners will be installed.

“The Hometown Heroes program is a powerful way for the City of Framingham to recognize the courage and dedication of the men and women who served our nation,” Framingham Mayor Charlie Sisitsky said in a statement…
