Many speak out at Henderson public meeting on wind energy ordinance

HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) – A year long series of public meetings got underway Wednesday night in Henderson, as leaders work to draft a wind energy ordinance.

Cordelio Power has proposed installing around 90 turbines in eastern Henderson County, ranging from Highway 136 east to Highway 60 East.

As we’ve told you, fiscal court approved hiring consultants to come up with an ordinance. Wednesday’s meeting focused on land use and siting options.

Last summer, 14 News reported the court pressed pause for one year on a proposed wind farm project after public outcry.

Around 50 community members showed up in person Wednesday night and another 120 were online to express disagreement with the project and what they want to see in the proposed ordinance…
