SPOKANE, Wash. — What started as a report of gas theft in a parking lot turned into a much larger discovery for deputies with Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) early Sunday morning.
Deputies said they responded to a gas theft report during the early morning hours of March 22 and discovered three men siphoning gas from a truck in a parking lot in the 400 block of E. Hawthorne Road.
Evidence found at the scene included a tube still stuck in the victim’s gas tank, a Milwaukee cordless power washer on the ground behind the truck, butane lighters, small rubber containers and other tools inside, SCSO said.
The victim told deputies that an estimated 15 gallons of diesel fuel, worth approximately $90, were missing from his truck. The suspects also caused about $45 in damages…
