POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — The first case of rabies in Polk County for 2026 was confirmed in Lake Wales on Wednesday.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, a resident in the 1700 block of Masterpiece Road found his dog standing over a bat in the yard on Saturday.
