Southern Living, GoBankingRates name Bellevue ‘best town to retire’ in the South

Southern Living has named Bellevue as the best small town to retire in the South — and the No. 2 retirement spot in the nation. GoBankingRates so ranked Bellevue based on having a walkable downtown, a close-knit community and a low cost of living.

Its place on the banks of the Ohio River, in close proximity to both Cincinnati (with skyline views) and Newport add to its charm, according to the story. It location capitalizes on small town charm but puts it in reach of amenities of bigger cities.

Its 5,500-plus residents also find plenty to do and see in downtown Bellevue, says Southern Living. “The historic city offers colorful storefronts and restaurants, historic Italianate buildings, farmers’ markets, art shows, parades, and concerts.”…
