DES MOINES, Iowa — One of two men Des Moines police have been seeking in connection with a violent assault at a downtown skate park last week is now in custody.
Darius Stogner, 28, was booked into the Polk County Jail at 1:46 a.m. on Thursday on charges of Willful Injury-Causing Serious Injury, a Class C felony, and Disorderly Conduct-Fighting/Violent Behavior, a serious misdemeanor.

A criminal complaint filed in the case states that during an altercation over a possible stolen bicycle at Lauridsen Skatepark on March 19th, Stogner punched the victim multiple times in the head, without the victim swinging back. The victim got away and was standing near a ledge when police said Stogner hit him once more in the face, and the victim became unconscious, falling off the ledge and striking his head.
The victim suffered a concussion and had a large gash on his head that required staples, according to the complaint.

The Des Moines Police Department is still seeking 27-year-old Ovet Lara-Cortes in connection with the assault. He is wanted on a charge of Assault Causing Serious Injury, a Class D Felony. Lara-Cortes is described as 5’7′ tall and 136 pounds…
