SEDGWICK COUNTY— The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 30-year-old Wichita man early Wednesday morning at the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility.
Deputies and on-site medical staff responded at about 1:30 a.m. to assist the inmate, who was experiencing a medical emergency. While staff assessed him, he became unresponsive and stopped breathing. Personnel immediately began life-saving measures.
Sedgwick County EMS and the Wichita Fire Department responded. Despite continued resuscitation efforts, the inmate was pronounced dead at 2:28 a.m…
