AUSTIN (KXAN) — Ahead of the official grand opening on June 6, KXAN got a sneak peek at the progress of the Waterloo Greenway Confluence. Construction on the outdoor space has restored creek side trails, made new connections and improved public spaces along Waller Creek.
The Waterloo Greenway is a 1.5 mile park system with 35 acres of connected green space that spans from 15th St along the eastern edge of downtown, to Lady Bird Lake.
Construction on the Confluence portion of the project began in May of 2023. It’s the second phase of the Waterloo Greenway which includes the work to improve the area along Waller Creek between 4th Street and Lady Bird Lake.
