MOBILE, Ala. (NBC 15) — The trial is now underway for Darius Janoski Lucky Jr., one of the defendants charged in connection to the 2023 drive-by shooting that killed A 9-year-old girl in Mobile.
Prosecutors allege Lucky was one of at least two people who fired shots into the home on December 5, 2023. Investigators say the shooting was an act of retaliation after the victim’s older brother allegedly stole a gun from a co-defendant days earlier.
Family members and friends of both victim Cailee Knight and defendant Darius Lucky gathered at the courthouse, waiting for jury selection to finish so they could enter the courtroom for their respective sides…
