Two Northern California men killed in fiery crash outside Travis Air Force base ID’d

Solano County officials on Wednesday identified the two people killed in a fiery crash outside of the Travis Air Force Base following a police pursuit this week as 30-year-old Taevion Knox and 28-year-old John Newton.

Knox, of Oroville, and Newton, of Sacramento, were in a vehicle that erupted in flames after crashing at the Travis Air Force Base visitor parking lot around 12:17 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office. It was not immediately clear who was driving the car.

Deputies, who were pursuing the vehicle, unsuccessfully tried to put out the fire with fire extinguishers, officials said. The two men were pronounced dead by fire personnel from the Travis Air Force Base…
