Richmond packaging plant to shut down, affecting 110 employees

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Richmond packaging plant is closing its facility along Richmond Highway in June 2026, affecting 110 employees, according to a Virginia WARN letter.

On Tuesday, March 31, Mark Romaniuk, deputy general counsel for the Packaging Corporation of America (PCA), notified the state, as well as Richmond Mayor Danny Avula, that the packing manufacturer would be closing its facility at 2000 Richmond Highway, effective Monday, June 1.
